Research Task 3: Portfolio Week 11

1. Choose one of the three media examples of horror texts (available on Moodle). Offer a detailed textual analysis of the text, paying attention to lighting, editing, sound, art styles, colour, costume, etc. How does this piece fit within the horror genre?

2. Conduct some research into the production or links of the piece to the horror genre (what is the text based on? Is this important? Is the director a key figure in horror? (So, for example, consider the importance of Edgar Allan Poe in The Tell Tale Heart)

3. What links can you make between the theoretical approaches to the horror genre and this text? (periodisation/ history, production, psychoanalysis, audience, movement, thematics, reception, marketing, culture, theory ( liminality/ abjection/ gothic/ unheimlich).

4. Show your research, and as always include a full bibliography and Harvard APA referencing.
